Tree House Humane Society introduces a revolutionary iPhone application that takes advantage of the features of the worlds most popular smartphone to help pet guardians report and locate lost pets. The app is called PetSpotter. Using the iPhones GPS, camera and maps, pet guardians and animal lovers can instantly post information on a lost or found animal to a dedicated online database. The content of the database is than posted on a custom website, PetSpotter.org. The searchable data is accessible and usable, even if you dont own an iPhone. You can also post lost or found info on the site.

Features Include:

- the option to post your posts on your Facebook page
- posts will be immediately emailed to veterinary hospitals and shelters in your area
- the ability to turn your post into PDF poster that can be emailed or printed out
- optional email notifications for animals posted in your animal

Tree House, a cageless, no-kill shelter founded in 1971, has also included a version of their Cat and Dog Care guides in the app. The guides, written by animal behavior experts and veterinarians, provide pet guardians with valuable information, including how to acclimate a new pet to your home and general diet and training tips.

We are offering PetSpotter for free as a public service as we believe that all animal lovers should have access to the best tools available to care for their animal companions.

Tree House is a humane organization that promotes the inherent value of every animal and strives to educate the public about proper and responsible animal care, with a focus on the care and placement of stray cats with special physical and emotional needs. PetSpotter will help continue this mission. Tree House is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and survives solely on donations. If you would like to donate to our programs, including our capital campaign to build our new adoption center and low-cost veterinary clinic, please visit TreeHouseAnimals.org.
